Postcards from Home - Pattern collection

Stemming from my love of pattern I decided to create a range of pattern designs. Noticing a lack of tasteful New Zealand inspired fabric and wallpaper I wanted to design a range that could help fill that gap in the market. I like design that tells a story and takes the viewer on a journey with an authentic and artisan feel. I sought this in my work through personalising my concept and hand printing the designs. Postcards from Home is a collection of modern pattern designs connected to memory and nostalgia. The range is inspired by the things I missed about New Zealand whilst living abroad, linked to specific memories of favourite experiences and places from the North Island. Samples were hand printed on natural fabrics using eco-friendly inks.
